Heritage Park Senior Center/Thomas T. Feeney Manor

MINNEAPOLIS PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY

We were true pioneers in developing this important facility. Being the first brings plenty of ‘unknowns,’ and Brian’s leadership certainly helped us pave the way.

Heritage Park Senior Services Center and the Thomas T. Feeney Manor are state-of-the-art complexes that provide a variety of specialty services along with a memory care housing facility for low-income senior citizens. Heritage Park Senior Service Center, with its spacious lobby, tranquil waterscape, stone fireplace, featuring stylish furnishings, outdoor veranda and a welcome desk, could easily be mistaken for a boutique hotel. In actuality, Heritage Park Senior Center contains a local YMCA specially designed for older residents, a therapy pool, a medical clinic, and adult day facility.

The first of its kind in the country, Thomas T. Feeney Manor provides 48 units of memory care and enhanced assisted living for residents in public housing. Public Housing residents facing the challenge of memory loss now have a safe and affordable home at Feeney Manor.

Today, the Heritage Park Senior Campus is a national model, serving more than 400 elderly public housing residents. This unique development brought together several distinguished partners, including Minneapolis Public Housing Authority, Augustana Care, YMCA of Greater Twin Cities, Courage Center, Neighborhood HealthSource and the Minneapolis Highrise Representative Council.
